Urgent Information - Covid-19 lockdown for Brisbane - Vacation Care 11 January 2021
Dear Families, A number of you have no doubt heard the announcement made by the Premier. We set out below the latest information released as of 8.30am Friday 8 January 2021. Greater Brisbane will be entering a three-day lockdown from 6pm tonight until 6pm Monday. Residents in the local government areas of Brisbane, Ipswich, Moreton Bay, Logan, and Redlands can only leave home for one of these four reasons: 1. To buy essentials like groceries or medications 2. Work or study if you can’t do either from home 3. Exercise 4. Healthcare or to provide help, care, or support Residents of these areas must also wear masks everywhere except at home. This will include our staff and parents entering the premises on Monday 11 January 2020. Children will be exempt from this as the advice from the health authorities is that children under 12 years of age do not need to wear masks. As people are still allowed to go work, we will be open and operational for families who essentially need to work. This will be charged as per our normal charging procedures. If your child is unwell, please do not bring them to the Service on Monday 11 January 2020. We will unfortunately not be able to accept them.
If you do not have to go to work or do not need to use Vacation Care on Monday 11 January, then please keep your child/children at home as they will not be able to attend. You will not be charged for this day. Our admin team will remove this booking from your account. This exceptional charging decision is only from Monday 11 January 2021.
We have prepared a digital register to go out to working families who need care on Monday 11 January 2021. We will need you to fill out the form linked below today as an urgent priority. This register will ask for your place of employment details and your best contact information. Our admin team will begin to contact families who are booked in for Monday 11 January to assist you with this process.
Moving forward, these decisions are based on the Premier’s advice and are only to 6pm Monday 11 January 2021. There is no need to panic and remove bookings for the reminder of the week, as we believe it will be business as usual after that unless otherwise advised by the relevant health authorities and the Premier.
If there are further changes, as always, we will act swiftly and advise you as a matter of priority. Any queries or questions please don’t hesitate to contact us in the office or feel free to call my work mobile if you need further advice.
Kind Regards,
Raeleen Wren
