Temporary Financial Hardship- Additional Child Care Subsidy

Dear Families,

We understand many families have experienced temporary financial hardship through these unprecedented times of COVID-19. As we move forward, we understand many families need to access Outside School Hours Care to work, study and/or look for work. We understand some families are still struggling due to the loss of one or more jobs within their family due to the downturn in the economy.

As a supportive measure, we wanted to let families know about a subsidy that can assist with temporary financial hardship you may be experiencing with regards to your Childcare/OSHC fees. Rather than terminating your child’s booking due to loss of work, why not investigate Additional Child Care Subsidy (ACCS) that can support families through these difficult times.

ACCS is an approved subsidy that can cover your Childcare/OSHC fees (parent gap) for a 13-week period. This is approved by the Federal Government and to be eligible, families must meet at least one of the following criteria’s:

Temporary financial hardship may occur if you or your partner have:

  • lost your job, other than if you resigned or retired

  • suffered a loss of income or a business failure due to circumstances outside of your control, such as serious illness

  • been adversely affected by a major disaster event

  • had your home destroyed or severely damaged.

You may also be experiencing temporary financial hardship from:

  • the death of a partner or child

  • loss of child support due to the death of a paying parent

  • having to leave your home and not being able to return because of an extreme circumstance such as from being affected by family and domestic violence

  • being affected by family and domestic violence, and the family member responsible leaves, or is removed from the home
